Warning! Did you know that Google AI can read all of your personal information in your Gmail?
Google has been allowing AI to read your email inbox—everything. This includes your personal conversations with friends or family, tax or financial information, emails from your bank or credit card companies showing vendor names and transaction amounts, and even your Amazon orders. Google can also see things like your electricity bills, car insurance statements, and more. Think about that for a moment—that’s a huge amount of personal and sensitive information, and it’s something Google and AI don’t need to know.
Google AI can see everything and learn more about you, which means you are losing your privacy.
The good news is that you can turn this AI scanning feature off—and it’s easy.
Go to your Gmail inbox and click the small gear icon in the top-right corner. Click See all settings, then scroll all the way down until you see Smart Features. Uncheck Turn on Smart Features in Gmail, Chat, and Meet. Once unchecked, click the blue button that says Turn off and reload.
There are a few more settings you need to disable. Go back to the gear icon, click See all settings again, and scroll down until you see Google Workspace Smart Features. Click Manage Workspace Smart Feature settings. You’ll see two toggles—Smart Features in Google Workspace and Smart Features in other Google products. Turn both of them off, then click the blue Save button.
That’s it.
From now on, Google AI can no longer see your emails. Turning these settings off means Google cannot access your personal information anymore. Do this right now while you’re watching this video, and share it with your friends and family. Your privacy is important, and I want you to know about this.
I’ll be making more videos like this, so keep an eye out for the next one. Thank you for watching One Deaf Geek.
